The art program to RMCA offers a comprehensive art experience to all our students. Elementary students have a weekly class in which they are introduced to the elements and principals of art in a vivid and exciting way. They learn art concepts and ideas, are exposed to a wide variety of media, and focus mainly on art production that will be sent home to parents. As they draw, paint, cut, glue and sculpt, they are reminded who the first Artist is, who created the world and mankind in His image—complete with creativity just like our maker.
Our Elementary Music Program spans from Preschool through Sixth Grade. Students have many opportunities to sing, play instruments, dance, act, and much more. All grades have opportunities to sing in chapel and other special events. They learn music through playing hand bells and recorders; some apply their skills to improvisation, boom whackers, drum circles, and much more. Each year, first through sixth graders have a chance to participate in one or two musical productions. These presentations incorporate scriptural life lessons that we focus on through our class time as well. Our desire at RMCA is to glorify God through music and be part of filling the earth with His praise.
Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy recognizes the importance of Physical Education as well as academics. Students participate in a wide range of games and sports from Dodgeball and Duck Duck Goose to Soccer, Volleyball and Basketball. Students learn how to work as a team encouraging each other. They learn how to exhibit Christ-like attitudes in sportsmanship.
It is a known fact that children don't get enough exercise. At RMCA, they have a great time burning off some energy and enjoying much needed recess. They learn to glorify God with their bodies, as well as their spirit as Paul instructed in 1 Corinthians.
"What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's"(1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
Technology and Media
Strong technology skills are not gained from just taking a course in computers. They are achieved by learning and then building those skills through hands-on projects. The technology program at RMCA is designed to teach the necessary computer skills from an early age and continually add each year through high school to master the areas of typing, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, PowerPoint presentations graphics and web design. Students enjoy access to computers both in the classroom and in our technology lab.
